Welcome to the 2008 USSSA Sunshine State Super NIT in Kissimmee, Florida. The Proverbial Who's Who of Competitive Baseball! We are ready for another outstanding event held in the great state of Florida. Your Super NIT host and sponsors will do everything possible to create a weekedn of USSSA Baseball that players, coaches, and families will not soon forget. The Super NIT will be played at the Houston Astros Spring Training Complex, Osceola Softball Complex and several other local area venues as several local high schools, May 9-11, 2008 and May 16-18, 2008. The exact assignments of what ages and classifications will play at what venues will be determined at the time of scheduling.
Last year, the Florida Super NIT drew an amazing 111 teams from Florida and several surrounding states. With the addition of the 9U division and the growth of this event alone, we anticipate over 140+ teams will compete for the BERTH into the Elite 24 World Series.
Come and compete with top teams at outstanding venues in Florida. This event is a race to play with the Best in the Best - the 2008 Elite 24 World Series at Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex.
• IMPORTANT HOTEL ACCOMMODATIONS INFO •
The Super NIT will be played at venues in Kissimmee, Florida near the USSSA National Office. All venues are a short 10-15 minute drive from each other, therefore, accommodations at selected properties which offer group rates will put you just minutes from all venues. The exact assignments of what ages and classifications will play at what venue(s) will not be determined until the time of scheduling. The city of Kissimmee is only 30 minutes from the Orlando International Airport and Disney attractions.
Below are approved host hotels provided by the USSSA National Office for the Super NIT. All teams are required to stay at one of these host hotels in the city of Kissimmee. To make team or single reservations please contact the hotel directly and mentioned the USSSA group rate.
The Major and AAA classifications will play separate of each other throughout the Super NIT. Teams will compete in the classification in which they are classified as by USSSA UNLESS the team requests to play up in a higher classification. Only teams competing in the 9U - 15U MAJOR divisions are eligible for a berth to the Elite World Series at Disney. Teams who earn berth to the Elite 24 must participate in their state tournament to validate the berth.

OPTION #1 (On-Line): Teams may enter the Super NIT on-line at USSSA.com by CLICKING HERE. The team's USSSA Login I.D. & Password are needed along with a credit card to secure payment. Make sure to enter the team in the correct age & classification. After completing the on-line payment process, you must complete this ENTRY FORM including the names of up to four coaches to receive Super NIT Passes. The USSSA.com web site system will automatically notify Florida Travel Ball of payment. All completed entries (Entry Form & Payment) MUST BE RECEIVED BY 6:00pm on May 5, 2008. Upon receipt of a completed entry, an email confirmation will be sent from Florida Travel Ball.
OPTION #2 (U.S. Mail): Teams may enter the Super NIT via U.S. Mail. Along with payment (made payable to: Florida Travel Ball, Inc.), mail this completed ENTRY FORM including the names of up to four coaches to receive Super NIT Passes; to Florida Travel Ball. Also, you must fax the entry form to Florida Travel Ball, Inc. at 407-386-6598. All completed entries (Entry Form & Payment) MUST BE RECEIVED BY 6:00pm on May 5, 2008. Upon receipt of a completed entry, an email confirmation will be sent from Florida Travel Ball.
IMPORTANT NOTE: All teams will play Friday. Game times will be assigned by travel distance. Games will start at 4:00pm on Friday.
USSSA will use a pool play into bracket play format. Teams will be seeded in pools by USSSA Points totals at the time of seeding and will play two (2) pool play games with pool. Following pool play all teams will advance to the single elimination Championship Bracket. Teams are guaranteed three (3) games weather permitting. The exact format (i.e.; number of pools, quantity of teams in each pool, etc.), will be set by the Tournament Director following USSSA Baseball Guidelines with apporval of the USSSA Baseball National Committee.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Teams must have all participating players listed on their Official USSSA On-Line Rosters in the USSSA.com system 24 hours before the scheduled start of the event. No players may be added after the 24 hour deadline...no exceptions! In addition, all participating players shall have photocopies of their Original Birth Certificates in the possession of their team manager and available for inspection at all times.
ONLY ONE "BULK" DRINK COOLER PER TEAM WILL BE ALLOWED IN ANY SUPER NIT VENUE. All individual coolers are prohibited.
General gate admission will be $7.00 per day for all persons 15 years of age or $15.00 for the Super NIT Pass. Children ages 6 - 14 will be $5.00 per day or $10.00 for the Super NIT Pass. Children 5 years of age and younger are admitted free of charge. Admission applies to everyone except participating uniformed players and listed coaches (maximum of 4 per team) with proper identification.
All games will be played out until a winner is declared. If the regulation number of innings has been played or fi an imposed time limit has expired and a game is tied, the game will continue using the International Tie Breaker Rule (the player that made the last out in the previous inning starts as a runner on second base with NO outs) until a winner is declared. No game will end in a tie. Tie Breaker Rule DOES NOT apply for championship games.
All rules of play not specifically covered herein shall be governed by the USSSA NATIONAL BYLAWS & RULES which includes the Official Rules of Baseball - National League as published by The Sporting News.
